  • Our Upping Your Elvis experience was quite exceptional. They engaged, enlightened and entertained us with a 4 hour workshop that was a highlight of our conference. This was all the more impressive as the audience were 250-plus scientists-leaders who normally have a healthy (!) sense of skepticism about interactive workshops. We had fun. We learned. They exceeded our expectations.

  • I can say without hyperbole that my week with Chris, Jim and the rest of the Elvis team down in Lyme Regis was one of the most enriching experiences I've had in my career. I immediately came away from the course with a new armoury of skills to help bring out my own creativity and that of others. Months on I am still feeling the effect of how the course has helped me to grow personally, in ways both tangible and tacit.

Discover the moments that will help you Wake Up!

Discover the moments that will help you Wake Up!

November 14, 2016

Some days we feel awake, alive, conscious and attuned to the world and the people around us. On those days it’s not hard to believe that we have around 70,000 thoughts a day.

Other days just fly past in a blur.

The blurry days are often full of daydreams about the past and future, and we generally react to choices or moments in our day without very much thought as to what’s best. Or even that there is another option!

Then we come back down to earth with a bump and think “where the hell did that day go?”

We’ve been on autopilot.

When we are on autopilot our subconscious takes over in order to save us some much needed energy. It does this by honing in on past experiences and their similarities to what we are being faced with, thereby matching them up with simple habitual outputs. For example, we often drive on autopilot. You know that feeling when you arrive and you have no recollection of the journey? That’s autopilot.

We default to autopilot in many facets of our lives by piggybacking onto our old failsafe habits, in doing so escaping busyness.

However, we’ve all got those friends who just seem to have an energy about them, an enigmatic charm which feels constant, a continual shininess. What’s their secret?

Well, we reckon it’s their own little unique moments of inspiration that they ensure is built-in to each day in order to help them escape their autopilot. Some people do 20 press-ups every time they go to the bathroom, others only eat bananas for the whole day on a Tuesday, there are those who only have walking meetings. The options are endless. Kaufman and Gregoire believe that trying new things makes you more creative, so it’s time for you to have a go!

Wake Up! is inspired by these friends; their awareness of what keeps them present, conscious and mindful is what we have decided to embrace and amulate.

Wake Up! teaches you how to become more aware of your unique moments that can get you off autopilot more often so that you can lead a more extraordinary life.

You can get involved with Wake Up! as a workshopan app and a book. It is here to make our lives more conscious, joyful and inspired.
