  • Our Upping Your Elvis experience was quite exceptional. They engaged, enlightened and entertained us with a 4 hour workshop that was a highlight of our conference. This was all the more impressive as the audience were 250-plus scientists-leaders who normally have a healthy (!) sense of skepticism about interactive workshops. We had fun. We learned. They exceeded our expectations.

Ron Fuchs, Head of Comms Roche

  • Chris leads the most amazing, inspiring, and self-changing events. They’ve had a profound impact in my life and on my work. He has the uncanny ability to help individuals and companies change – change for the better, more profitable, more joyful. Chris helped me discover my real talents and desires. Working with him has changed my life.

Jeff Semenchuk, Chief Innovation Officer at Hyatt Hotels Corporation

  • Upping your Elvis have brought creativity into the heart of everything we do at ITV. They do it in an incredibly engaging fun style which is infectious.

    Kelly Williams, Sales Director ITV

  • Chris’s book is a champagne-in-the-veins tonic for jaundiced people who desire to revive the technicolour from a monochrome life. I heartily recommend it.

Tim Smit, co-founder and CEO of The Eden Project

  • Let Chris Barez-Brown be your idea guru!

Ken Blanchard, Co-author of the one minute manager

  • It’s not the instrument that makes the music, it’s the player. So much emphasis in the world of innovation and creativity is placed on process, tools and techniques. Chris fully understands it’s the people who make the magic not the structure. Chris is a master at bringing out the creative spark in people to turn dust into something that matters, so that in the words of John Lennon, “We all shine on."

John Van Vleck, Global Director, Insights, Ideas and Creativity The Coca-Cola Company

  • Shine: How to Survive and Thrive at Work is a bright source of energy and ideas that will help you make the most of yourself.

Ken Robinson, author of The Element: How finding your passion changes everything

  • A lot of the motivation ideas and support to transform the commercial team has come from Upping Your Elvis.

Fru Hazlitt, Managing Director, Commercial and Online, ITV

  • Our success [as Media Week Sales Team of the Year] is in no small measure down to the work we have done with Upping Your Elvis

    Simon Daglish, Commercial Director ITV

  • Apart from the very insightful content and great techniques I thought the delivery was the best I’ve ever seen – very human and hilarious (and I have high comedy standards ;-))

The Creative Spark - No 4

The Creative Spark - No 4

April 19, 2017

Elvis's mission is to help people and businesses realise their creative potential. Once you discover this potential, good stuff happens. The Creative Spark was born to share some of the things that inspire us along our way. We hope you like them too.

Here at Elvis, creative leadership runs through our veins and in Jims' case so does rugby. Here, Jim explores the leadership style adopted by Eddie Jones to lead the England Rugby team to a world record and a number two world ranking. Be more Eddie, be more Elvis.

The Mad Drummer sure has Elvis in him. His creative leadership skills are unsurpassed. He isn't playing a covers session at a high school prom, in his head he's at Glastonbury on the Pyramid stage loving every minute of it.

Even with all the craziness happening in the world humanity still comes together which prompted Chris to share his wisdom. London Underground stations paved the way in inspirational quotes, filling commuters hearts with hope.

Our first Open Mastery Programme runs this summer. It will fill up fast, Louise Youll from DCM shared why: "All the creative sessions I ran in the build to the big pitch had Lyme Vegas techniques all over them!!! I want to say THANK YOU for your ongoing ever present inspiration."

Group hug.
Psychotherapist Virginia Satir said “We need 4 hugs a day for survival. We need 8 hugs a day for maintenance. We need 12 hugs a day for growth.” Get hugging and feel good.

Fact - We swipe, tap and pinch our phones on average 2,617 times a day, that's 1,000,000 times a year. Imagine how much time we could save and what we could do with that time by cutting that habit. Here's a simple how-to curb that desire.

Sweet, humble and inspiring Buddhist monk, Haemin Sunim teaches us about the power of slow in his new book 'How to be Calm in a Busy World'. In his quest he is rather nonchalently picked up 1.2 million twitter followers. Hear his words with Radcliffe and Maconie on BBC Radio 2.

Storm Stella dropped some late in the season snow in NY. Amtrak beats Southern Rail hands down with their 'let's do it' new snowplough train. However, they have given a nod to Southern with their customer care mind you. Strangely addictive viewing

Author Mark Manson shares why Life Is a Video Game and gives us the cheat codes on how to make your life fulfilled and meaningful. Eloquent swearing as always. Funny and impactful.

We often hear about how dynamic companies such as Apple and Google are but not how they actually make themselves more productive and always on their best game. Here is a brief glimpse behind the scenes.

Campaign's brilliant writer Sonoo Singh spent some time with our very own Chris, discussing Wake Up! and all things Elvis, desk-side and event-side. She had some very nice things to say and left with a spring in her step. We wanted to share her inspiration.

"When we learned to cook is when we became human"
