  • In a rapidly changing world what differentiates successful companies from average ones is IDEAS. ELVIS unleashes the creative power of people in my team who are enabled to provide creative leadership to help others translate insights into big ideas.

Stan Sthanunathan, Consumer & Market Insights, Unilever

  • Chris’s book is a champagne-in-the-veins tonic for jaundiced people who desire to revive the technicolour from a monochrome life. I heartily recommend it.

Tim Smit, co-founder and CEO of The Eden Project

  • So much big talk about transformation... Chris actually delivers it. Time and again. Part art, part gift, part crazy man. He works his magic every time!

Maria Eitel - Founder and President of the Nike Foundation

  • Our Upping Your Elvis experience was quite exceptional. They engaged, enlightened and entertained us with a 4 hour workshop that was a highlight of our conference. This was all the more impressive as the audience were 250-plus scientists-leaders who normally have a healthy (!) sense of skepticism about interactive workshops. We had fun. We learned. They exceeded our expectations.

Ron Fuchs, Head of Comms Roche

  • Apart from the very insightful content and great techniques I thought the delivery was the best I’ve ever seen – very human and hilarious (and I have high comedy standards ;-))

Olivia Diamond, Commercial Progamme Manager, Diageo

  • Our success [as Media Week Sales Team of the Year] is in no small measure down to the work we have done with Upping Your Elvis

    Simon Daglish, Commercial Director ITV

  • Working with Elvis is like Rehab. I am energised and excited by that. I know who I am and what’s great about that.

    Dean Watson, Director, Roche

  • The session was very well received. Your suggestions were referenced many times over the rest of the meeting. Your approach is a breath of fresh air in helping my team consider different approaches to work with each other and with a very diverse stakeholder group.

Peter Yribar, Global Head Product Development Quality at Genentech

  • Upping Your Elvis’s simple, human approach to creative leadership helped to teach the Maxus teams that work is all about how we show up every day, not instilling clever techniques and processes. We have applied the learnings, delivered tangible results and live it every day in the work we do at Maxus.

Jenny Smith, Global Creative Director Maxus

  • Chris Baréz-Brown’s presentation style sparkled and inspired our team to think differently. His unique and powerful insights have the ability to transform any organization.

Derek Kent, Chief Marketing Officer, Canadian Olympic Committee

The Creative Spark - No 7

July 6, 2017

Elvis's mission is to help people and businesses realise their creative potential. Once you discover this potential, good stuff happens. The Creative Spark was born to share some of the things that inspire us along our way. We hope you like them too.

Chris is very excited to announce his new wellbeing column in GQ. Every month he will be sharing his wisdom and expertise on how to lead a happy, creative and fulfilled life. Out at newsstands now! Sign up for more CBB inspiration at barez-brown.com

At Cannes Lions it was analogue creativity that garnered the most awards, from print to product design to TV. Jim and Chris were at large in Cannes- their top award pick for creative thinking? A rectangular football field in an overpopulated area of Bangkok.

Grime artist Stormzy took Glastonbury by storm. His attraction is not only down to his intelligence, music and super cool presence but his huge cajones - speaking out about hisdepression, his political views with humility and empathy (he loves him Mum too). Bravo Stormzy.

A brilliant, inspiring Twitter feed by author, academic and adventurer Robert Macfarlane. So we and 35k followers believe. Simply, 'A word a day from nature'. Oh and his books are totally mesmerising too.

A funny and engaging BBC Capital video comparison between British and US work cultures. The main things that divide us - laughter, being late, swearing and tea breaks. 4 things we Brits are apparently very good at. Proud moment.

Currently on Chris's radar. Big time. It has got his creative juices flowing. His top recommendation for a thought provoking read. A guidebook for anybody who wants to radically change their life.

His holiness Pope Francis shares his words of wisdom in this time of social, economic and political unrest. 'Everything is connected. Life flows through our relations with others.' Religious or not, it's powerful stuff.

With the holidays ahead its a great moment to contemplate bringing some of that relaxed vibe home. The psychological importance of wasting time. Forget doing what we 'should', sometimes, just do nothing and embrace these moments as 'time well spent'.

Fact: share the caregiving load at home, get more sex. It's proven. That's because women like a feminist man. Come on guys, it's not rocket science, follow these tips and make them happen. Reap the rewards.

Bulldog Drummond is a design and innovation firm (and our pals Stateside). They develop uncommon brands, products and experiences that create real value. Here are some uncommon quotes they have put together to fuel our creative thinking.

Chris shares with British Airways Club magazine his top tips for staying mindful on your travels. Forget about working, focus on making the most of the experience and enjoying some mile-high 'me' time.

We're now offering our best selling workshops as 'opens', enabling more people to experience us whilst mixing with diverse groups. We start with Creative Mastery w/c 4th September in sunny Lyme Regis, Dorset. There are just a couple of places left. Come along. Change your life.

My approach is just fearless. I’m not afraid to try anything.
